The International platform, India March for Science – Abroad (IMFS-A), has been created to unite Indian scholars, situated abroad and in India. The platform seeks to support and carry the movement forward, that has been unleashed to save science by the Marches for Science in 2017 and 2018.

Aims and objectives

1.To build up a movement in support of the demands raised by March for Science in India (http://breakthrough-india.org/MFS2018/).
2. To cultivate logical faculty of mind, and foster consciousness against pseudo-science, superstitions, fanaticism, communalism, casteism, etc.
3. To conduct campaign for the introduction of a secular, scientific and democratic education policy.

4. To move for the introduction of pro-people government policies in regard to research, development, and application of science and technology.
5. To disseminate and popularize important discoveries and advancements of science.

6. To study of history and philosophy of science.

Activities we do

Debate, discussion and knowledge transfer

Organize regular discussions, meetings, seminars, science-days, conventions, conferences among members, scholars in universities, cities, countries and "continent"-wise divisions.

Campaign for science and scientific outlook

Conduct effective move to inculcate logical faculty of mind in people, and reinforce scientific temperament in society. Unleash effective campaign against pseudo-science, superstitions, fanaticism, communalism, casteism in social media, e.g., facebook, twitter, blogs, youtube, etc.

Science education

Contribute to science education, for examples, design  simple science (physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, engineering and computer science) experiments, prepare supportive materials related to science-education for students and common people. Provide fund, resources and support to organize science exhibitions and fairs, or science day, anti superstition shows (miracle-busting), astronomy related (e.g. sky-gazing) events, seminars and documentary shows, in the schools, colleges, universities and among common people.

Magazine

We publish on-line magazine, on behalf of IMFS-A, with scholarly and popular articles covering issues in science, education, research, scientific temperament and society.
